How co-op works

GRAIN ROT can be played solo or in online co-op. Co-op runs on player-hosted Steam lobbies rather than dedicated matchmaking servers, so one player hosts and the others join. Every player who wants to join needs to own their own copy of the game.

Step-by-step: invite friends

  1. Start or join a player-hosted Steam lobby.
  2. Use Steam's friend/invite flow to invite people who own the game.
  3. If you need teammates, use the official Discord LFG/community channels.

How many players?

The official FAQ says the game is roughly balanced around four players, but it does not state a fixed cap. We are not listing a hard player limit because the source material does not confirm one.
